19 How can Artificial Intelligence Accelerate Phenotyping Efforts in Animal Breeding?

Abstract With the development of high-throughput technologies, biology has become a large-scale and data-rich field, especially for genomics phenomics. Concurrent with this expansion in availability their use livestock sectors accordingly increased. This occurred most notably field animal breeding, where technologies hold promise as means more efficiently connecting phenotypes pedigree to drive genetic improvement production health-related traits. The rate gain is closely related quantity quality phenotyping data. However, there are still considerable manual tasks that involved processes. Precision farming or smart uses sensing technology supported by artificial intelligence machine learning monitor morphometric changes growth dynamics activity status. In particular, two computer vision wearable sensor systems, plays pivotal role accelerating efforts providing non-intrusive measurements animals high temporal spatial resolution. presentation will provide recent update on current approaches systems body mass behaviors animals.
